It’s the last weekend of 30 days of biking, and I’m beginning to feel a bit blue about it finishing. I’ve loved every minute of the challenge – it’s been thoroughly enjoyable. I love the fact that I’ve ridden my bike so many days in a row, that I’ve replaced car journeys with bike rides and that I’ve inspired my sister to ride her bike to work. I’ve also loved the sense of community that’s come with taking part in this challenge. Social media has come alive with chat about bikes, and I’m really happy to be a part of it.
Day 27 took me back to the Forest of Dean for a whiz around the Verderer’s Trail. And I really do mean a whiz, as I beat my personal best time for the route by a whole seven minutes! I’m so pleased with myself! And I reckon I can put my new PB down to having taken part in 30 days of biking. It’s helped me improve my cycling fitness and strength – something I hadn’t really realised until today. I’m one happy cyclist!
Here’s a piccie of me, loving the Verderer’s Trail:
